Eligibility Criteria Of The NEET Examination

A number of factors affect the eligibility and qualifications for MBBS and BDS courses in India. We have taken the information regarding this criterion from the official sources and mentioned them below. 

• Age Limit: You should have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission. Or you must be of this age on or before 31st December of the year of your admission to the first year of the undergraduate medical course. There is no upper age limit to get enrolled in the MBBS / BDS course. 

In case you are an Indian Citizen or an Overseas Citizen of India and intend to pursue an undergraduate medical course in a Foreign Institute, then also you need to qualify for the NEET exam.

• Qualifications: To be eligible for the NEET exam, you must refer to the below points for qualifying examination criteria. 

You are allowed to take the NEET exam after completing your 12th standard with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the main subjects. 

You can apply and appear in the NEET exam if you are waiting for your result in the 10+2 exams. However, you will not be eligible for admission into a medical course if you do not pass the 12th class with the required pass percentage at the time of the first round of counselling.

• The NTA displays the NEET question paper with provisional answer keys in case you have any doubts about the published answer key on their website. 

• Your answers in the NEET exam question paper will be evaluated using a standard procedure. You can download your scorecard thereafter from the official portal. 

• The merit list or All India Rank is prepared according to the qualifying criteria and some other norms. 

• Your result of NEET will be utilized by other entities of State and Central governments in accordance with their respective eligibility criteria.
