UPSC CMS Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

  1. Written Exam (500 marks)

  2. Personality Test (100 marks)

UPSC CMS Exam Pattern 2025

The first step of exam preparation is to check the UPSC CMS 2025 exam pattern, by which the candidates could get a glance at how it would be like.

The UPSC CMS exam pattern 2025 consists of 2 stages.

  • Written test - 2 papers (Total of 500 marks).

Part 1 Syllabus contains topics about General medicine and Pediatrics. Part 2 Syllabus of the written exam is on Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, and Preventive & Social Medicine.

The written test consists of 2 papers carrying 250 marks each, Each paper is of 2 hours.

  • Personality test. (100 marks)

The next step of the UPSC CMS exam pattern is the personality test which will be conducted on the candidates who qualify for the written exam. There will be a negative marking of ⅓ marks for every incorrect answer.
