Vijayanagar Empire was ruled by four important dynasties namely, Sangama, Saluva, Tuluva and Aravidu. The Vijayanagara Empire was founded by Harihara and Bukka and the reign was from 1336 A.D to 1646 A.D. Harihara and Bukka are the founders of the Vijayanagar City in 1336 A.D. on the southern banks of Tungabhadra. They made Hampi the capital city. They served under Vira Ballala III, the Hoysala King. Krishnadevaraya of the Tuluva dynasty was the most famous ruler of Vijayanagar. He ruled from 1509-29.
Robert Clive was Governor of Bengal during 1757–60 and again during 1765–67; he established Dual Government in Bengal from 1765–72. In the Battle of Plassey, the Nawab was defeated by the British despite having a larger force. Clive ensured an English victory by bribing the Nawab’s army Commander Mir Jaffar, who was installed as Bengal’s Nawab after the battle. Clive was also able to capture some French forts in Bengal. For these exploits, Robert Clive was made Lord Clive, Baron of Plassey.
