Eleven friends B, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, Z, V and W are sitting in the first row of the stadium watching a cricket match. T is to the immediate left of P and third to the right of Z. V is the immediate neighbour of B and N and third to the left of S. B is the second to the right of Q, who is at one of the ends. R is sitting next to the right of P and P is second to the right of O. Which of the following person is sitting at the center of the row?
From the statement “T is to the immediate left of P and third to the right of Z. R is sitting next to the right of P and P is second to the right of O.” -
Z _ O T P R ___________(1)
From the statement “V is the immediate neighbour of B and N and third to the left of S. B is the second to the right of Q, who is at one of the ends.” -
Q _ B V N _ S ______________(2)
From 1 and 2-
Q _ B V N Z S O T P R
So, the remaining place will be filled by W.
The arrangement of the persons is -
Q W B V N Z S O T P R

A child reshapes a cone made up of clay of height 24 cm and radius 6 cm into a sphere. The radius (in cm) of the sphere is
Height of the cone, h = 24 cm and radius of the cone, r = 6 cm
The cone is reshaped into the sphere.
Let R be the radius of the sphere. Therefore,
Volume of the sphere = volume of the cone
⇒ (4/3)πR3= (1/3)πr2h
⇒ 4R3= r2h
⇒ R3= (62×24)/4 = 216
⇒ R = 6
Thus, the radius of sphere = 6 cm

In a family of 5 members, the average age at present is 33 years. The youngest member is 9 years old. The average age of the family just before the birth of the youngest member was
Total age of 5 member = 5×33=165 Age of youngest member=9yrs Total age of 4 member=165- 9=156
As the younger child is born 9 year ago, so total age of remaining 4 member 9 year ago is = 156 - 9 × 4 = 120 Therefore, avg. age of 4 members = 120/4 = 30
Two trains 600 km apart start moving towards each other. If they start at same time then they meet in 10 hours but if one train starts after 4 hours late than the other train then they meet in 8 hours. What is the difference in speed of both trains.
Let the speed of trains be x kmph and y kmph Then, ⇒ 10x + 10y = 600 ⇒ x+ y =60 ……(i) In 2ndcondition, let train with y kmph start after 4 h ⇒ In 8 h train with x kmph travels = 8x km And time for train having y kmph = 8+4 = 12 h So, it travels 12y distance ⇒ 8x + 12y = 600 …….(ii) Solving (i) and (ii) Multiply i by 8 and subtract from ii ⇒ 12y – 8y = 600 – 480 ⇒ y = 30 kmph And, ⇒ x= 60 – y= 30 kmph ⇒ Thus, both trains travel with same speed and difference is zero.
