    Hence, option B is the correct answer.

  • Question 2/5

    Statement:

    1. All mangoes are golden in colour.

    2. No golden-colour thing is cheap.
    Conclusion:

    1. All mangoes are cheap

    2. Golden-colour mangoes are not cheap.

    Solutions

    No mango can be cheap. Since all mangoes are golden in color, we can
     substitute mangoes with golden-colored mangoes. Hence, conclusion 2
     follows.

  • Question 3/5
    1 / -0.33

    If 9(2x + 3) = 27(x + 4), then find the value of x.
    Solutions

    Given:

    9(2x + 3) = 27(x + 4)

     (32)(2x + 3) = (33)(x + 4)

     34x + 6 = 33x + 12

     4x + 6 = 3x + 12 (Base in both sides is the same)

     x = 6

    Spirit and water are present in a ratio of 9:11 in a vessel. If 6 liters of spirit and 6 liters of water is added to this mixture, then the ratio of spirit and water becomes 11:13 . Find the initial amount of spirit in the vessel.
    Solutions

    Option D is correct answer

    Spirit and water are present in a ratio of 9:11 in a vessel.

    Let amount of spirit present in vessel = 9x

    Amount of water present in vessel = 11x

    A.T.Q.

     117x + 78 = 121x +66

     4x = 12

     x = 3 litre

    Hence, Initial amount of spirit in the vessel = 9x = 9× 3 litre = 27 litre

  • Question 5/5
    1 / -0.33

    Water is flowing at the rate of 2.52 km / h through a cylindrical pipe into a cylindrical tank, the radius of the base is 40 cm. If the increase in the level of water in the tank, in half an hour is 3.15 m, find the internal diameter of the pipe.
    Solutions

    Speed of water = 2.52kmph = 2520 m/hr

    Length, h’ = 2520 m

    Let the radius of the pipe be r’ and radius of the tank, r’’ = 40 cm = 0.4 m

    Level of water in the tank in half an hour = 3.15 m

    Level of water in the tank in an hour, h’’ = 6.30 m

    Now, the volume of pipe = volume of the tank

     π r’2 h’ = π r’’2 h’’

     r’2 (2520) = (0.4)2 (6.3)

     diameter = 2r’ = 2 × 2 = 4 cm
