What is the ratio of candidates appeared in the interview from the bank SBI and BOM together and those who got selected in the interview from the BOB, Union bank and UCO bank together?

    Solutions

Number of candidates appeared from SBI is,

    = 51500 × 12/100 = 6180

Number of candidates appeared from BOM is,

    = 51,500 × 14/100 = 7210

    So, the candidates appeared from both = 6180 + 7210 = 13,390

    Now,

The number of candidates who got selected from BOB, Union and UCO together is,

    = 14,600 × (14 + 16 + 11)/100

    = 14,600 × 41/100

    = 5986

    Thus, the required ratio is = 13,390 : 5986 = 6695 : 2993

The number of candidates who were selected after the interview from the Union bank and BOI together is what percent of the number of candidates who were not selected after the interview from the bank BOM and BOB together? (Approximately).

    Solutions

Number of candidates selected after interview from Union bank is,

    = 14,600 × 16/100 = 2336

Number of candidates selected after interview from BOI is,

    = 14,600 × 32/100 = 4672

    So, the total number of candidates from both = 2336 + 4672 = 7008

    Now,

Number of candidates not selected after interview from BOM is,

    = (51,500 × 14/100) – (14,600 × 7/100)

    = 7210 – 1022 = 6188

Number of candidates not selected after interview from BOB is,

    = (51,500 × 12/100) – (14,600 × 14/100)

    = 6180 – 2044 = 4136

    So, the total number of candidates from both = 6188 + 4136 = 10,324

    Thus, the required percentage is = 7008/10,324 × 100 ≈ 68%

Find the average number of candidates selected after the interview from the bank BOB and SBI is what percentage of the number of candidates who appeared in the interview from the UCO bank and Union bank?(Approximately).

    Solutions

Average number of candidates selected after interview from BOB and SBI together is,

    = [14,600 × (14 + 20)/100]/2

    = (14,600 × 34/100)/2

    = 4964/2 = 2482

Number of candidates who appeared in the interview from UCO and Union bank is,

    = 51,500 × (16 + 18)/100

    = 51,500 × 34/100

    = 17,510

    So, the required percent is = 2482/17,510 × 100 ≈ 14%

The sum of the candidates who were selected after the interview from the bank BOI and BOM together and those who were not selected from the bank BOB and Union bank together is what percent of total no. of candidates appeared in the interview?

    Solutions

    Candidates selected from BOI after the interview is = 14,600 × 32/100 = 4672

    Candidates selected from BOM after the interview is = 14,600 × 7/100 = 1022

    So, the total of both is = 4672 + 1022 = 5694

Candidates not selected from BOB after the interview is,

    = (51,500 × 12/100) – (14,600 × 14/100)

    = 6180 – 2044 = 4136

Candidates not selected from Union bank after the interview is,

    = (51,500 × 18/100) – (14,600 × 16/100)

    = 9270 – 2336 = 6934

    So, the total of both is = 4136 + 6934 = 11070

    Thus, the required percentage is = (5694 + 11070)/51,500 × 100 ≈ 33%

Find the difference between the number of candidates who got selected after the interview from the bank BOI, UCO bank, SBI and BOM together and the number of candidates who did not get selected from the same four banks together?

    Solutions

Number of candidates who got selected after interview from BOI, UCO bank SBI and BOM together is,

    = 14,600 × (32 + 11 + 20 + 7)/100

    = 14,600 × 70/100 = 10,220

Number of candidates who did not get selected after the interview from same bank is,

    = 51,500 × (28 + 16 + 12 + 14)/100

    = 51,500 × 70/100 = 36,050

    So, the required difference is = 36,050 – 10,220 = 25,830

    Directions For Questions

Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below.

The Line graph given below shows the working efficiency of six people to complete the work.

    ...view full instructions

In how many days the total work will be completed, if all the six persons start to work together?

    Solutions

    P's one day work = 1/16

    Q's one day work = 1/10

    R's one day work = 1/8

    S's one day work = 1/20

    T's one day work = 1/18

    U's one day work = 1/12

    So, (P + Q + R + S + T + U)'s one day work is,

    = 1/16 + 1/10 + 1/8 + 1/20 + 1/18 + 1/12

    = (45 + 72 + 90 + 36 + 40 + 60)/720

    = 343/720

So, the time taken by all six together to complete the work is,

    = 720/343 =   2  (34/343) days

P and S starts working together and after 2 days both of them left the work. Then find in how many days the remaining work will be completed by U?

    Solutions

    P's one day work = 1/16

    S's one day work = 1/20

    So, (P + S)'s 1 day work = 1/16 + 1/20

    = (5 + 4)/80 = 9/80

    (P + Q)'s 2 day work = (9/80) × 2 = 9/40

    So, the remaining work after 2 days = 1 – 9/40 = 31/40

Then, the time taken by U to complete the remaining work is,

    = 12 × 31/40 = 93/10

    = 9 (3/10)  days

If P works for 4 days, Q works for 2 days, R works for 3 days, S works for 6 days, T works for 4 days and U works for 4 days, then find who completed the minimum fraction of work?

    Solutions

    P's one day work = 1/16

    So, 4 days of work of P = 4/16 = 1/4

    Q's one day work = 1/10

    So, 2 days work of Q = 2/10 = 1/5

    R's one day work = 1/8

    So, 3 days work of R = 3/8

    S's one day work = 1/20

    So, 6 days work of S = 6/20 = 3/10

    T's one day work = 1/18

    So, 4 days work of T = 4/18 = 2/9

    U's one day work = 1/12

    So, 4 day work of U = 4/12 = 1/3

Thus, it is clear that Q completed less fraction of work.

If T and U starts working together and after 3 days both of them left the work and R alone works on the fourth day, then find the remaining portion of the work after 4 days.

    Solutions

    T's one day work is = 1/18

    U's one day work is = 1/12

    So, (T + U)'s 1 day work is = 1/18 + 1/12

    = (2 + 3)/36 = 5/36

    Then, (T + U)'s 3 day work is = 3 × 5/36 = 5/12

    Total work done in 4 days is = 5/12 + 1/8

    = (10 + 3)/24 = 13/24

    So, remaining portion of the work after 4 days = 1 – 13/24 = 11/24

If a new person X works in place of P with Q, S and U and the remaining persons are removed from the work then the work will be completed in 15/4 days. Then find the working efficiency of X.

    Solutions

    Q's one day work = 1/10

    S's one day work = 1/20

    U's one day work = 1/12

    Let X's one day work = 1/X

    Then, according to the question,

    (1/10 + 1/20 + 1/12) + 1/X = 4/15

    (6 + 3 + 5)/60 + 1/X = 4/15

    14/60 + 1/X = 4/15

    7/30 + 1/X = 4/15

    1/X = 4/15 – 7/30

    1/X = (8 – 7)/30

    1/X = 1/30

So, X will complete the work in = 30 days
