The idea of the written constitution was adopted from the United States Constitution.

• The concept of ‘A Union of States in the Indian Constitution” has been derived from The Australian Constitution. 

• Other features from Australian constitution are Concurrent list, Freedom of trade, Joint sitting of two houses of parliament.

A constituent assembly is a body or assembly of representatives composed for the purpose of drafting or adopting a constitution.

Judicial review is adopted in the Constitution of India from judicial review in the United States.

The electrical resistance of an electrical conductor is a measure of the difficulty to pass an electric current through that conductor. The inverse quantity is electrical conductance, the ease with which an electric current passes. Electrical resistance shares some conceptual parallels with the notion of mechanical friction. The SI unit of electrical resistance is the ohm (Ω), while electrical conductance is measured in mho.

The blue colour of the sky is caused by the scattering of sunlight of the molecules of the atmosphere. This scattering, also known as Rayleigh scattering, is more effective at short wavelengths (the blue end of the visible spectrum).

Surface tension is the elastic tendency of liquids which makes them acquire the least surface area possible. Surface tension is an important property that markedly influences many ecosystems. Therefore a small drop of oil spreads over water because water has higher surface tension.

Young's modulus of elasticity is the ratio of longitudinal stress to longitudinal strain. Stress has units of pressure and strain is a dimensionless quantity and so Young's modulus has units of pressure. Its SI unit is therefore Pascal.

• A hygrometer is an instrument used for measuring moisture content or humidity in the environmental air.


• Anemometer is an instrument for measuring the speed of the wind, or of any current of gas.


• A pyrheliometer is an instrument for measurement of direct beam solar irradiance.


• A thermometer is a device that measures temperature or a temperature gradient.
