Direction: Given question consists of a question and two statements numbered I and II given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read both the statements and give answer:

Is it afternoon in Delhi?
I.The weather is bright, humid and hot in Delhi.
II.Thirteen hours ago it was midnight in Delhi.
From statement I,
we have given weather is bright, humid and hot.
So, we can not conclude that it is afternoon in Delhi
From statement II,
Because we know time that 13 hours ago it was midnight so obviously it is afternoon in Delhi.
So, data in Statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in Statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
K is towards which direction of D?
I. D is towards North of N.
II. D is towards South of which is towards West of K.
From statement II:
T → K
↓

K is to the North-East of D.
Village 'P' is in which direction with respect to village Q.
I.Village H is to the East of Village P and to the South of Village Q.
II.Village F is to the North of Village P and to the West of village Q.
So, P is in the south-west of Q, Therefore statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question.
So, P is in the south-west of Q, Therefore statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question.
Hence, data in Statement I alone or in Statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question.
What is Shekhar's rank in the class of 40?
I. Samir, who is 9th from the top in the class is above Shailendra by 12 ranks who is below Shekhar by 5 ranks.
II. Nilesh, who is between Shekhar and Sudhanshu, is 15th from the bottom.
Samir, who is 9th from the top in the class is above Shailendra by 12 ranks who is below Shekhar by 5 ranks.
So, shekhar is 15th from the top.
Nilesh, who is between Shekhar and Sudhanshu, is 15th from the bottom.
we can not say the position of Shekhar.
Hence, data in Statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in Statement II alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
Who among A, B, C, D and E run the fastest?
I. B runs faster than E but is not the fastest.
II. C, though does not run as fast as A and B, runs faster than D and E.
B runs faster than E but is not the fastest. so, this statement is not sufficient to answer the question.
C, though does not run as fast as A and B, runs faster than D and E.
So, this statement is also not sufficient to answer the question.
Hence, data in both the Statements I and II are not sufficient to answer the question.
Is the child holding a yellow colored flower?
I.When the thorn of the flower pricked his finger, the color of the blood matched that of the flower.
II.The child is carrying a rose in his hand.
Obviously from statement II we can not say that the child is holding yellow rose because in statement II, given only that a child is carrying rose only. So we can not say by certainty that the child is holding yellow rose. Because rose can be of red or yellow. So data in statement II alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
Now from statement I, it is given that when the thorn of the flower pricked his finger, the color of the blood matched that of the flower. That means we can exactly say that flower is red because blood is of red color. So, statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question. Hence, data in Statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question.
What is the code for TAIL in a code language?
I.In the code language DELAY is written as 57382.
II.In the code language TIDE is written as 6457.
So, statement I alone is not sufficient to answer the question.
So, statement II alone also is not sufficient to answer the question.
Now, from both the statement we can code the word TAIL as 6843.
Hence, data in both the Statements I and II together are necessary to answer the question.
How many students are there in the class?
I. In the class, Nisha ranks tenth from the top and twenty-third from the bottom.
II. Nandita is ten ranks above Sharma who is eighteenth from the top.
In the class, Nisha ranks tenth from the top and twenty-third from the bottom.
So, total number of students in the class=(10+23)-1=32
Nandita is ten ranks above Sharma who is eighteenth from the top.

From statement I:

From both the statements :
