Find the % of students from given two states who won the prizes as 70% of students from Punjab and 75% of students from UP do not won any prizes?
Who won prizes from Punjab = 30% of 20% of 4800 = 288 Who won prizes from UP = 25% of 14% of 4800 = 168 So total from these two states who won prizes = 288+168 = 456 Total students who participated from these 2 states = (20+14)% of 4800 = 1632 So required % = 456/1632 × 100 = 28%
Find how much percent of students from Odisha participated in Shooting if a total of 552 students from Delhi, Bihar, UP and Punjab participated in Shooting?
Number of students who participated in shooting = 18% of 4800 = 864 So number of students from Odisha who participated in shooting = 864 – 552 = 312 Number of students who participated from Odisha = 26% of 4800 = 1248 So required% = 312/1248 × 100 = 25%
Find the number of students from Odisha who participated in Tennis as in Tennis, 25% of students from Bihar participated, 25% students more than from Bihar participated from UP and ratio of students who participated from Delhi, Odisha and Punjab is 4 : 6 : 5.
Who participated in Tennis = 32% of 4800 = 1536 Students from Bihar who participated in Tennis= 25% of 18% of 4800 = 216 Students from UP who participated in Tennis= 125% of 216 = 270 So who participated from states Delhi, Odisha and Punjab = 1536 – (216+270) = 1050 From Delhi : Odisha : Punjab is 4 : 6 : 5 So 4x + 6x + 5x= 1050 Solve, x = 70 So from Odisha = 6x = 6 × 70 = 420
Find the number of students from Bihar who took part in Cricket given they are 78 less than the average number of students participated from all states in Cricket as from Delhi and Odisha, no one took part in Cricket.
Number of students who participated in cricket = 14% of 4800 = 672 Now no one from Delhi and Odisha participated in cricket, so average of students from each state = 672/3 = 224 (i.e. from Bihar, UP and Punjab) So number of students who participated from Bihar = 224 – 78 = 146
What percent of students who participate in T.T are from Delhi as 25% of students from Delhi participate in T.T.?
Number of students from Delhi who participated in T.T = 25% of 22% of 4800 = 264 Total Number of students who participated in T.T = 12% of 4800 = 576 So required % = 264/576 × 100 = 46%

What is the difference between the income of HCL and the income of IBM in 1978 as the expenditures of HCL and IBM are equal in the year 1978, and its 75 lakh each.
Income of HCL = 75 + 75 × 24/100 = 93 lakh Income of IBM = 75 − 75 × 16/100 = 63 lakh ∴ Difference = 93 – 63 = 30 lakh
