The famous Gangotri and Yamunotri glaciers are situated in Kumaon Garhwal Range of Himalayas.

• Gangotri glacier is a valley type of glacier situated in Uttarakhand.

• Gomukh is end part of Gangotri glacier form where the river Bhagirathi originates, which is a primary headstream of Ganga.
