If the last letter of each word is replaced by immediate succeeding letter as per alphabetical series, how many English meaningful words are formed?
Given words are: EAQ TEX AGD WUY INJ
1) Replacing last letter of each word to immediate succeeding letter as per alphabetical series:
EAR TEY AGE WUZ INK
2) Clearly, three English meaningful words EAR, AGE, INK are formed.
Hence, three meaningful words are formed.
If in each of the words, all the alphabets are arranged in English alphabetical order within the word, how many words will begin with a vowel?
1) Arranging alphabets within the word in English alphabetical order:
AEQ ETX ADG UWY IJN
2) Clearly, all words begin with a vowel.
Note: In English alphabetical series there are 5 vowels i.e. A, E, I, O, U else all are consonants.
Hence, all words begin with a vowel.
If the given words are arranged in the order as they would appear in a dictionary from left to right, which of the following will be third from right?
1) Arranging words in the order as they appear in a dictionary from left to right :
Left side AGD EAQ INJ TEX WUY Right side
Hence, INJ will be third from right.
If the second alphabet in each of the words is changed to the next alphabet in the English alphabetical order, how many words having vowel will be formed?
1) Changing second alphabet to next alphabet as per English alphabetical series:
EBQ TFX AHD WVY IOJ
2) Clearly, 3 words EBQ, AHD, IOJ have vowel.
Hence, three words having vowels will be formed.
When second and last letter of each word is interchanged, then how many words end with a consonant?
1) Interchanging second and last letter of each word:
EQA TXE ADG WYU IJN
2) Clearly, 2 words ADG, IJN end with a consonant.
Hence, two words end with a consonant.
If in the word ‘UNIVERSITY’, all the vowels are first arranged alphabetically and then all the consonants are arranged alphabetically and then all the vowels are replaced by the next letters and the consonants are replaced by the previous letters from English alphabet. Which letter will be fifth from the left end?
Word is : U N I V E R S I T Y
Vowels and then consonants arranged alphabetically- E I I U N R S T V Y
Vowels replaced by the next letter and consonants replaced by the previous letter- F J J V M Q R S U X
Letter fifth from the left end - F J J V M Q R S U X
Fifth letter from the left end here is M.
In the following question assuming the given statements to be true, find which of the conclusion among given conclusion is/are definitely true and then give your answers accordingly
Statements: H ≤ A ≥ B; I = B ≥ E > G
Conclusions:
I. E > H
II. H > B
Given statements: H ≤ A ≥ B; I = B ≥ E > G
On combining: H ≤ A ≥ B = I ≥ E > G
I. E > H → False (H ≤ A ≥ B = I ≥ E, there is no clear relation between E and H because of the opposite sign between E and H).
II. H > B → False (H ≤ A ≥ B = I ≥ E, there is no clear relation between H and B because of the opposite sign between H and B).
Hence, Neither I nor II follows.
Directions: Study the information given below carefully and answer the question given below.
E is 8 km south of F. G is 5 km north of F. D is 15 km east of E and 8 km south of C. B is 10 km west of C. A is 5 km north of B.
Distance between G and E is?
We have drawn the figure according to the information given in the question,
Now distance between G and E is = 5 + 8 = 13 km.
In the following question assuming the given statements to be true, find which of the conclusion among the given conclusions is/are definitely true and then give your answers accordingly
Statements: X ≤ Y = Z > A = B < C > D > E ≥ F
I. X < Z
II. X = Z
Given Statements: X ≤ Y = Z > A = B < C > D > E ≥ F
I. X < Z → False ( X ≤ Y = Z ). Thus, it is not definite that X will be smaller to Z.
II. X = Z → False ( X ≤ Y = Z ). Thus, it is not definite that X will be equal to Z.
Since X ≤ Z is true. Both the conclusions together form complementary pair. So, either conclusion I or II definitely follows.
Hence, the correct answer is either conclusion I or II follows.
In each of the following questions assuming the given statement to be true, find which of the conclusions among given conclusions is/are definitely true and then give your answers accordingly.
Statement:
A < M < X = T > V ≤ S ≤ H = G < O
I. T > A
II. S < O
I. T > A → True (A < M < X = T → A < T → T > A)
II. S < O → True (S ≤ H = G < J ≤ O → S < O)
Hence, Both Conclusion I and II follows
