Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
The official notification has provided the exact details of the age limit criteria for different categories of candidates. However, by analyzing the previous year’s notifications, the following can be assumed as the criteria until the official notification is released.
- The candidates should be aged between 18 to 30 years as of 1st August 2024.
- This means that the candidates must not be born before 2nd August 1994 and not born after 1st August 2006.
Age Relaxation
The notification also provides for the relaxation in the upper age limit permissible for various categories of candidates applying for the JHT posts. The table below can provide a better idea regarding the age relaxation,

Education Qualification
The minimum Educational Qualification for the SSC JHT 2024 Exam is a Master’s degree in relevant subjects. Check the post-wise required Eligibility in terms of education qualification from the below table.

Selection Process
The selection process includes:
- Paper I: Computer-based test consisting of objective-type questions in General Hindi and General English.

SSC JHT Exam Pattern 2024
The candidates willing to appear for the SSC JHT Exam 2024, should be aware of the detailed exam pattern for each stage of the selection process. In the tables below, let us look at the exam pattern for both paper 1 and paper 2 as mentioned in the official notification.
Paper 1 Exam Pattern
The Paper 1 will consist of 200 questions worth 200 marks and will be conducted for 2 hours. The questions will be objective type in nature and there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. The paper will contain questions on General Hindi and General English. The candidates who qualify for the cutoff for the first paper will be called for Paper 2 which will be descriptive. The candidates will be tested on their Translation and Essay-writing skills. The paper will be worth 200 marks and will be conducted for 2 hours.

SSC JHT Syllabus 2024
