CTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
For Classes 1-5 (Primary Level):
Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary with 45% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, by NCTE regulations.
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Graduation and passed/appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
For Classes 6-8 (Upper Primary Level):
Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Graduation and passing/appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Graduation with 50% marks and passing/appearing in a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Graduation with 40% marks and passing/appearing in the final year of B.Ed, as per NCTE regulations.
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
CTET 2025 Selection Process
Candidates appearing for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will be shortlisted on the basis of their score in the CTET Exam. CTET is an eligibility test only which means, qualifying for CTET does not guarantee jobs to the aspirants. They have to apply for recruitment at different schools based on the available vacancies which require CTET Certification for which the candidates must score more or equal to 60% marks in order to get selected.
